The GS1 retail strategy has been developed to respond to significant changes in the retail ecosystem with a unique set of challenges faced. This session will focus on the work that is being done to enhance Engagement, Adoption and Use of GS1 standards. This work stream is approach is working to enhance global coordination of initiatives that feed into the activities in the local markets. This is related to industry engagement, intergovernmental organisations or other strategically relevant groups. The work is building a plan that will make it easy and fast for MOs to catch up locally with engagements and ensure that there is global momentum by building on already existing successes, while adjusting to the local situation and priorities. In this session we will validate the plan that is being developed by the Retail Strategy MO Steerco, and have a constructive discussions on alignment and way forward.

In this follow-up to our Retail Plenary, you will hear from a multitude of stakeholders along the apparel value chain about their key challenges, opportunities, and needs for standardisation in the realm of transparency and traceability - and how they converge in 2D, GS1 Digital Links, and our Registries program. The objective of this session is to equip MOs and industry alike to approach the apparel industry with a compelling, interoperable and neutral framework for connecting supply chain tiers and answering everything from regulation to consumer concerns.
